The Mercedes-Benz GL450 uses Pentosin CHF 11S fluid in the power steering system. In order to check the fluid level in the car You'll have to first open the hood. Open the drivers door and pull the hood release lever, it is at the bottom of the kick panel on the driver's side. Once You hear the hood pop go around to the front of the car Anne put Your hand between the grill and hood right in the middle and move the hood safety latch to the left and lift the hood up. The power steering fluid reservoir is located right in front of the engine slightly to the left and below the air duct. Before removing the cap, wipe any loose dirt or debris from around it so nothing gets inside to contaminate the oil. Loosen the cap by turning it counterclockwise and then lifting it out and wipe it off with a clean cloth. Put it back in and tighten the cap then remove it again. Make sure the fluid level is in between the Min and Max marks.
