The 2015 Nissan Frontier uses a full synthetic SAE 5w-30 oil in the 2.5L i-4 and 4.0L v6 engines. The recommended oil capacity is rated at 4.9 quats for the 2.5L 4Cylinder and 5.4 quarts for the 4.0L v6 motor. Not changing the oil causes the oil to lose its viscosity and will not properly lubricate the internal parts of the engine such as the pistons and cylinders. The price for oil will range from $5 - $10 per quart depending on if its conventional or synthetic and the brand/quality of the oil. Make sure if you are replacing oil that you also replace the oil filter as well. The oil change is one of the most important service intervals to keep up on and that is why they have the oil light in the truck now to remind you.

In my new sweet 2020 frontier per the manual it’s 0w20 but I’ll switch to 5w20 in the summer.
