I changed my front rotors & brakes myself to avoid the insane labor costs. I bought the parts for around $180.00 & installed them myself. The dealership wanted to charge me like $600.00 to do it. If you are mechanically inclined, then I suggest you do it yourself. That way you're only out of pocket for parts.

Went to dealer in NJ for coupon oil change and tire rotate. Said I needed rear brakes, fluid change and rotors cut. $720. Need the car for work and travel. It is what it is. Any work done at dealership is usually expensive but at least they are responsible for the continuity of repairs. We also have to cover the new UAW contract costs.

Firestone replaced all brake pads and rear rotors . With $100 off coupon still cost $595. I think this is ridiculous.

I just got a quote of $410 from the Nissan dealer to replace my rear pads and rotors. I have 77,000 miles on the vehicle. Is that a good price?
The dealer changed my rear pads and rotors 17,000 km ago and they now tell me they need to be changed again! What kind of cheap parts are they using?
