The radio in Your 2003 Honda Element has a built in anti-theft system that will not allow the unit to function after it has lost power unless a unique code is entered by the owner. This was done to stop thieves from stealing Your radio since it would be useless without the code. The downside to this system is You have to enter the code every time You replace or disconnect the battery. You can find the code in two different locations, the first is in Your glovebox. There should be a sticker placed on the inside of the glovebox that gives the code, if it isnt there check inside the owners manual. Another method is by calling or visiting Your local dealership where they can look up the code in their database.

To get the radio code for a 2003 honda element, press and hold the 1 and 6 buttons for about ten seconds, then push the power button. The code will toggle and then appear.
