The cost of replacing the 2012 Hyundai Veloster engine will range from $1,500 to $3,900 based on the output. You can have a discarded or used engine that's pretty inexpensive and costs only $1000, and if You buy a new engine it's going to cost a little more than $2500 or $3000. The 1.6L I4 engine is a decent engine and can last 200,000 to 250,000 miles with good maintenance schedules. You'll more likely have to take it to a repair shop or repair shop because it'll cost from $800 to $1000 for labor and it's one of the toughest and most time-consuming jobs to complete.

I just checked around. All used engines were $1,600-$2,000 and I was quoted $1,500 for labor. That's $3,100-$3,500, total.
