The 2000 Ford F-250 cabin air filter is located on the inside of the hood, near the window. Look for a large black plastic cover, it should have a couple of clamps on the side. Pull it free and You will see a large white filter with a red outline. That is the cabin air filter. If the white on the filter is brown or black then You need to change it. This is what the car has to "breathe" through, so if it looks like You would have trouble breathing then so will Your car. If You leave it alone then You will find the engine does not get enough air to run properly. A new filter is about 50 dollars, so not too bad of a replacement. It simply comes right out, so no need for special tools.

The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box on the passenger side. You have to remove the box first.
