If You want to know where the starter is located on the 2006 Chevy Equinox, this is where You need to be. The starter on this vehicle is located under the vehicle right behind the oil pan. If You're looking at the oil pan and You still can't see the starter, look in the direction of the oil filter. It is located right next to the oil filter. It is a small silver cylinder like machine if that makes it easier. The purpose of the starter is to provide a crank to the engine so that when the driver puts their key in the ignition and turns to start, the starter activates and helps the engine turn on.
