The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado's starter is located on the passenger's side of the engine, under the hood and inside of the engine bay. If You're attempting to repair or replace, it's important to first disconnect the negative terminal from the battery; this is required firSTStep any time You're working with the truck's electrical system. If You want to get a replacement done by a professional mechanic, You're typically looking at between $350 and $525. If You feel confident that You can do the job Yourself, You can pick up a new starter for around $225 or a remanufactured part for around $175. Most experienced auto enthusiasts can probably complete a swap in a long afternoon, so it's at least worth looking into a walkthrough video to save a few dollars.

Underneath the passenger side of the engine is the 2007 chevy silverado starter. Remove the two 3/8 "mounting bolts attaching the starter to the base of the engine.
