The starter on your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado is going to be located underneath the engine on the front passenger's side. Assuming you want to remove it, here's what you do: If you've got a trim with the V8 engine, you'll have to remove the bell cover housing to access it. Either way, you'll need to jack up your vehicle, and then remove the negative battery cable before you start playing with this. For the starter itself, it's held in place by two 13 millimetre bolts. You'll also need to disconnect the 10mm bolts holding on the solenoid terminal. After that, you can disconnect the battery connections going into the start, and just pull the starter out of the truck to you.
