The 2009 Ford Escape fuel tank pressure sensor can be found on the fuel sending unit that is located inside the gas tank at the back of the vehicle. This sensor is there to measure the pressure inside the tank and allow excessive fumes to vent off when the pressures get too high to prevent any accidents. The gasoline in Your fuel tank does give off fumes and these can build up in the gas tank and that is why You have a pressure sensor. This will send the fumes out through the charcoal canister at the back of the fuel tank so that they do not build up too high and cause any damage to the tank or the fuel system.
