The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo's coolant temperature sensor is a bit difficult to find, so You'll do best to block out a bit of time for a swap (if that's Your intention). You'll need to look behind the alternator, and remove the intake flange support in order to gain access. Finding it is only part of the job; removing it is also quite difficult, as there's little space to work. The first thing to note is that You'll have the best access from the bottom of the vehicle. After jacking it up (and placing it safely on jack stands), reach to the aforementioned location with a small 2 inch screwdriver and find the pry spot. It's a male / female connector, so You may have to give it some coaxing before You can unscrew it from the engine block.
