The 2011 Chevy Malibu uses two oxygen sensors to monitor the exhaust gas. The Bank 1 sensor is located on the bottom of the exhaust manifold at the rear of the engine. It is just above where the manifold ends and the exhaust pipe begins. The Bank 2 sensor is located right after the catalytic converter. If you follow the exhaust pipe up, starting from the rear moving towards the front, it is right after where the pipe bends up to the engine. The Bank 1 sensor points towards the fire wall and the Bank 2 sensor points towards the passenger side of the car. You will need a 22mm wrench or deep well socket to remove them.
