The fuel pressure sensor in Your 2013 Ford Escape is located in the fuel tank on the fuel sending unit. The sensor is there to measure the pressure on Your fuel tank and open the vent valve if the pressure gets too high. If You notice that there is a check engine light on Your dash You should use an OBD II scan tool to see if it is a problem with this sensor. They have been known to fail in the past and can leave the vent open. That will lead to an evaporative leak which is often confused for a bad gas cap. Replacing the sensor is fairly easy to do and it is usually under $100 to complete at a shop.

The fuel tank pressure sensor in the 2013 ford escape is located inside the fuel pump assembly. So in order to replace it you will have to take that apart. You may want to replace the fuel pump at the same time, it is a matter of choice.
