The MAP sensor in a 2013 Ford Focus can be found on the intake piping for the engine. This sensor is there to measure the air pressure as it enters Your vehicle and it relays that information to the ECU so that it can calculate the amount of fuel needed. As Your vehicle changes elevation the air pressure changes. When this happens Your ECU can compensate for the decrease in air pressure by increasing fuel to the engine. This can help keep the air to fuELRatios right and help Your engine run well. Before MAP sensors You would often have to determine what jet You wanted in a carburetor to make sure that You had enough power while driving at different elevations.
