The 2014 Chevy Silverado engine oil pressure control solenoid is located near the oil pump in the oil pan. This solenoid controls the amount of pressure that comes out of Your oil pump and into Your engine. If You happen to notice lower or higher than normal oil pressures usually that is a sign that this solenoid is failing and will need to be replaced. To access it You will have to drop the oil pan from the vehicle. Usually replacing this solenoid costs about $200 and when it does completely fail You will get a check engine light on at Your dash with a code P06DD. I recommend making sure that You check Your oil regularly to make sure that it is free from debris that can damage the components.

This is sure sign of stupidity to install an electronic sensor inside a oil pan. This shows the engineers that designed this had no idea or application experience for the task at hand. An electronic sensor installed in an oil pan with 200+ degree oil splashing around with an electric connector is going to be a maintenance item. Instead in a 4 wd drive application it's a $1400 labor invoice. Keep up the good work GM your doing great.

Look on or inside the oil pump to locate the engine oil pressure control solenoid.

Back right if you’re looking at the engine.
