The cabin air filter in Your 2016 Ford F-150 XLT is located behind the glove box. This filter is responsible for cleaning all the air coming into the cab of the vehicle though the A/C system so it is something You should definitely stay on top of. Ford recommends changing the filter every 10,000 miles if You drive in extreme conditions or every 15,000 - 30,000 miles in normal conditions. To get to the filter You will need to lower the gloveboxBy disconnecting the damper arm and releasing the two clips holding it up. Then locate the filter cover which is behind where the glovebox was. Once You have it out You need to install the replacement and reverse these instructions to put it all back together.
