The cabin air filter in a 2001 Toyota 4Runner is located behind the glove box inside of a plastic housing. The cabin air filter in a vehicle helps remove harmful pollutants, including pollen and dust, from the air You breathe within the car.One of the most common signs of a failing cabin air filter is reduced air flow within the vehicle. If the filter is d***y, it will not be able to effectively allow clean, incoming air to the car's cabin. Because of this, You'll notice weak air flow when turning on Your air conditioning system. Luckily it's a relatively cheap fixAs the average cost for a cabin air filter is only between $10 and $30 and is easy to replace Yourself.

There isn’t one for that year. 2002 was the first year to have them.

No, I found that out after buying one that Advance Auto parts will surely sell you and there's also a YouTube video that shows how to replace it but after getting the glove box out of the way come to find out, there's no place for it.

I didn’t see one either. Not like the videos showing where it’s located. Just a blower and a vent tube going across. Way different from the videos.
