The 5.4L 2003 Ford F-150 does not come with an EGR valve. It comes with a variable valve timing solenoid. The EGR valve is only available in the 4.6L engines of the model. VVT (Variable Valve Timing) systems have taken the place of EGR valves nowadays. The VVT has been found to increase fuel efficiency and vehicle performance when compared with an EGR valve. Therefore, there is no EGR valve found in this vehicle because it has been replaced with a VVT system. However, the VVT system for Your car may go bad, and may be needed to be replaced. You can have it replaced for around $380 to $450 from Your local auto shop, but note that the prices may vary.
My 5.4 has a egr, not the variable valve timing sensor or whatever it is your trying to convince people of. You should know your facts before posting info..js

Bullcrap. The 5.4 in the 03 came with or without an EGR. Fact. If you are trying to find a replacement engine it is important to know which one you have. Anyone who doubts this, look it up at car-part.com. Plug in the vehicle information and you will see the options.

The 5.4-Liter engine used in the 2003 ford f-150 does not actually have an egr valve. The truck uses variable valve timing which eliminates the necessity for an egr valve.
