The oil pressure sensor in a 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer is located just above the oil filter at the front of the engine. Some signs of a bad or failing sensor is the oil pressure light is on, the oil pressure gauge reads at zero and the engine is running fine and not mIS Firing. First, start by checking the engine oil level, if engine oil level is full, likely the problem is the sensor. To remove the sensor You need either an oil pressure switch socket or a 1-1/16" deep well socket with SRX points and a ratchet. Jack the front of the car up and place jack stands under it. Disconnect the electrical connector and put the socket over the sensor and rotate it counterclockwise.
