The 2004 Toyota Corolla torque converter clutch solenoid is located between the rear of the engine and the front of the transmission where both pieces connect. Some of the symptoms You may have with a bad or faulty TCC solenod is delayed gear shifting, unable to downshift, transmission getting stuck in neutral. The TCC solenoid will prevent fluid pressure from activating the correct gear which will cause the transmission to get stuck in neutral. The price for a replacement part will range from $30 - $50 and will vary depending if its an OEM or aftermarket part. It is a strenuous job removing the TCC so it is recommended to take the car to a mechanic or dealership to get it fixed. The cost for a repair will range from $300 - $450 including parts and labor.

Is it located on top of the transmission where the transmission meet the engine or is it located where the transmission filter is located (which is inside the transmission pan) which contains 3 or 4 solenoids?
