The transmission dipstick for a 2006 Toyota Tundra truck is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the back of the engine. It is used for measuring the fluid if You are going to change the fluid out. To change the transmission fluid You will want to first make sure the car is level on the ground and then pop the hood open. Now locate the transmission fluid container, it should be on or near the transmission itself, and find the dipstick. Pull it out and wipe it clean, then put it back in and pull it back out. Note the amount of fluid it says is in there, and how much You need to put in to fill the container. Use a funnel and top of the container until it is full, or right at full. Being a smidge under is fine, but do not overfill. Now close up the container and You are good to go.

There may be a dipstick on the passenger side of the 4 cylinder version, but the v8 version does not have one. See a qualified repair/service facility or the dealer.

You'll find no dipstick on a 2006 Toyota Tundra 4.7L because it's a sealed transmission. There is a fill "Plug" near the top of the transmission, the fluid is pumped into the transmission until it starts overflowing then is replugged. There is a drain plug at the bottom of the transmission.
