The speaker sizes in the 2012 Toyota Tacoma are front and rear door are 6x9" and front dash iS3 1/2". You will come into problems with the sound. This could be from the stereo's speakers or a phone that is connected to the vehicle. Whatever the source, You will need to have these issues solved quickly. If the nuisances are coming from the phone, it could be that the software won't update at all, the device won't sync with the vehicle, the phone's battery is near empty, or something is interfering with the signal. If the problems are coming from the stereo's speakers, it may be static sounds, randomly turns off, a loose wire, or a blown fuse.

My 2012 Tacoma Access Cab has 6"x 9' speakers in the bottom of the front doors. Along with 3" tweeters next to the door latch and lock button. There are also 2 small speakers hidden overhead between the roof and the head liner, not sure what size. There are NO speakers in the rear door of an Access Cab model, unless you put them there yourself or the previous owner did it him/herself.

Actually, once I got the speakers out of their mount, I found that the bolts holding them in are indeed 3.5" apart but the speaker itself is only about 2 5/8" from edge to edge, and about 1 1/4" deep at the mounting holes. So buy tweeters very carefully.
