When Your 2010 Ford Escape radio buttons are not working, it is a good chance that the fuses have been blown. The vehicle has several fuses assigned to electrical components, and these fuses protect those components by blowing, if there is a power surge or any other dangerous issues. In order to get things working again, it will be necessary to locate the fuse responsible for the buttons on the radio and get it replaced. If this does not resolve the issue, try doing a hard reset of the radio. This would involve holding down the power button of the radio for a while, until it power cycles and resets itself. There is also the possibility that a cable connected to the radio button pad has come loose or burned out. Have that checked as well.

I just bought a used 2010 Escape, bummer, no lights and no functions of the center dash of radio, but steering wheel controls did work, had preset radio stations etc, but nothing worked on center dash, could not turn on or off and no buttons worked, someone actually changed radio box with a junk yard one that said "good" on it, but they forgot to plug in the faceplate ( faceplate has a separate power plug going to it ), once I plugged it it, all good

If radio is playing and the display is also showing the station etc and the buttons are working for radio on steering wheel but not on the center dash check the face plate itself, behind it, it actually has a separate power plug that goes to it separate from the radio itself, plugs in on psg side directly behind face plate.

You should also get a check up of the anti theft system.

How do I access the separate power plug that goes to it separate from the radio itself, plugs in on psg side directly behind face plate. How does the face plate come off

If your radio buttons aren't working, chances are you've blown a fuse. Check your car manual to see where the fuse is located to change it.
