Although Your question is a little nonspecific, I'll do my best to try to determine why Your 2010 Ford Focus's dash lights are staying on. Do You mean that everything is illuminated behind the dash Is it a specific light coming on, like the check engine light Is something coming on while You're driving, or after You've already shut the car off It's normal that most of Your dash lights will stay on after You've gotten out of the vehicle, at least for a short period. This is typically between 5 and 10 minutes, but can extend to perhaps 15. If they're staying on longer (like, overnight), then You may have a faulty ignition switch or a bad relay which isn't killing power to them. Unfortunately, the most likely way this will end if You don't get it fixed is a dead battery.

Ignition lights normally turn off after a few minutes leaving the inside of the car totally dark apart from the LED light blinking. Noticed the other morning that they were still illuminated.Battery was unable to start the engine when we tried to start some time later. A faulty ignition switch could be the reason - Malcolm V? Have just had a new battery fitted but can't get to mechanic until Monday. What to do with problem in the meantime? Disconnect battery or will this cause more problems?

One potential reason for the dash lights on a 2010 ford focus to stay on is a faulty ignition switch. This needs to be addressed as it could lead to battery issues.
