There are several reasons that could cause the windows in the Ford Explorer did not work. One could be that the window regulator motor has failed, the motor usually costs around $200, with labor costs added it could take it up to almost $375 to have repaired. Other possible causes will be a faulty window switch, either the drivers door main switch or at the affected door, this could cost up to $150 to have repaired. The wiring may have chaffed off the coating allowing it to be shorted out by touching the metal or the ground wire may have become disconnected, maybe a pin is corroded inside an electrical connector. Water infiltration is a strong possibility, it may have entered into a bad door or window gasket had friend the motor.

If the power windows in a ford explorer fail to work, check the fuse located in the fuse box to make sure it hasn't blow. The next option would be to have the power window motor tested.

My front windows & power mirrors didn't work for about 1 mile. Went into a store, came out, started the vehicle, power was restored. No idea why this occurred.
