If Your Toyota RAV4Check engine light illuminates with the VSC and 4WD light also on it could be a couple of different things. Some issues are a loose vacuum hose, a bad O2 sensor, or even a software issue with the PCM. If You have a diagnostic tool You should check the error codes to help pinpoint the issue. You can usually rent them from a local auto parts store if You do not have one. Most of the time this OBD diagnostic tool will help You figure out what the issue is. Also, check the hoses and make sure all of them are on tight and secure sot they do not allow any air to leak.

Hi, My Check Engine Light/VSC & 4WD lights all of a suddencame on, at the same time my engine running rough, could this still be a cap issues? Or would engine not loose performance if it was a 'Cap' issue? Thank you inadvance ☺️

So I just had this problem and my hubby fixed it. It actually started couple days ago we noticed the heater was not heating. Yesterday these lights came on. Had diagnostic done at Autozone. Came up with the answer which my hubby already told me. Antifreeze/coolant was low. He filled it and all lights went off. A $20 fix. If you take to Autozone this answer is also at the bottom when they plug the tool to their computer.

I got a call from a friend who had to pull off from the freeway as the check engine message came on. He was driving a vehicle with high mileage (180k). I asked him to check his oil level. The dip stick didn't have any oil shown. Luckily he had oil with him and found he needed to put in almost 3 quarts to get the oil to come up to the right level! That fixed the problem. Obviously the old engine is burning oil.
