If Your thermostat housing on Your Chevrolet Cruze leaks, it's typically a sign of a broken or otherwise degraded thermostat. Unfortunately, there's really no fix for this aside from total replacement; You may however get lucky and just find that the seal is degraded, in which case You can replace the seal with a new gasket. Otherwise, You'll need to swap out the thermostat. Depending on model year, You can find a replacement thermostat with the housing for as little as $30. Premium brands may cost You up to $75 or $100, but this is still a relatively inexpensive fix for a component that can ultimately blow Your engine up from overheating. It's recommended that You replace as soon as possible.

The chevy cruze most common problem remains the coolant leakage from the thermostat casing, additional problems can lead to coolant leakage and engine control light.

I had this Cruze that leaked for years without a code, but I replaced the thermostat with the housing box and it stopped the leak, but now I get an intermittent thermostat/gasket code LOL
