The most common reason why an instrument cluster stops working in a 2010 Chevy Malibu is a blown fuse. This vehicle has three fuse boxes, which are in the engine compartment, passenger compartment, and cargo area. The one You're looking for should be in the one in the cargo area. It can be accessed through a panel in the trunk on the driver's side. If a blown fuse isn't the problem, You should check the connections for the interior lights. There could just be a minor wiring issue that needs to be fixed. In less common cases, the entire instrument cluster needs to be replaced. This is a costly repair, averaging $920 to $960. Labor accounts for $70 to $100 of that total.

After checking my fuses inside the car and in the trunk (none were blown) and I only had to check the fusebox under the hood I noticed that one of my battery terminals was loose. I tightened them down and everything started working again with no further problems.
