The check charging system light in Your 2011 Honda Pilot is a warning light that comes on when the vehicle senses a problem in the charging system. This can be any number of problems from something as simple as a low battery to a loose alternator belt all the way to something like a corroded engine ground wire. One thing to keep in mind is that older lead acid batteries do not do well in the cold. If the temperature is anywhere near or below freezing You may want to let the battery warm up and see if the light goes away. If that is not Your problem You may have a faulty component which would need to be replaced. The battery and alternator can be tested at most local auto parts stores for free

The 2011 honda pilot check charging system light means that there's a problem with the alternator.

I have the same issue. New alternator (14.2)V, new battery (12.6V) but the Check Charging System keeps flashing intermittently.

My alternator is fine. Puts out normal voltage and amps. Could be cabling or even the computer.
