There are quite a few reasons that could cause the touch screen in Your 2015 Toyota RAV4 did not work. The first thing that You should check is the passenger compartment fuse box. Refer to the fuse box diagram and find the one the is for the display. Pull it out and hold it up to the light and see if the filament inside is intact or not. If it is blown, replace with one that has the same amperage rating. If the fuse is still good, there may be an issue with the display panel itself. The wiring connector could be damaged or there may have been an power surge that has fried the circuitry inside the head unit, which would require replacing the whole unit.
