Its difficult to say exactly why the civics touch screen isnt working, as it could be a number of different reasons. First, try resetting the system by pushing and holding down the volume control button for about 30 seconds. If this doesnt reset the touch screen entirely, Youre either looking at an electronic failure inside due to faulty wiring or damaged parts, or an error with the ECM. In either case, consult Your owners manual to see if there is a section on how to address those issues. If not, its best to get an experienced set of eyes to look at the car. I wastold by dealership that the fan behind the screen broke and caused the screen to overheat and break. $2600 for part + $400 labor = $3000 for a new screen
