If Your 2018 VW Tiguan blind spot monitoring system is not working there are a few probable causes. The most likely reason that it is not working is because of a computer problem. If Your vehicle's safety monitoring computer has frozen up You will want to reset it to make the systems all work again. These have been known to have problems in the past but have gotten better over time. Another likely reason the blind spot monitor is not working is that the sensors are either damaged or d***y. If Your sensors are d***y or damaged they will not be able to read the traffic around You and may think a vehicle is always in Your blind spot.
Can I clean the sensor myself or does it have to be cleaned by a VW PROFESSIONAL certified technician at the dealership?

If the 2018 vw tiguan has a blind spot sensor, other wise known as eyesight, then it will not be able to assist in parking and will become unsafe.

We had the same problem with our 2018 VW Tiguan… Took it to the dealer today and they ran a software update, which fixed it. This seems to support the idea that it’s an issue with the computer.
