There are many different reasons why the remote start isn't working in the Cadillac SRX. It could be something simple like a dead battery in the key fob, a door not being locked, vehicle not in park, the hood is ajar or more than 2 remote starts have been attempted. It can be something more complicated like the keyless entry transmitter is not operational or a current vehicle theft deterrent malfunction. If the key fob battery is dead, the size of the battery used is CR2032. Other issues You can check by just locking the doors, making sure the hood is closed or making sure the vehicle is in park. If the problem is with the keyless entry transmitter, then it would need to be replaced.

The remote start for a Cadillac SRX may not work if the check engine light is on. If the light isn't on you may need to replace the battery in the key fob.

Check your key fob the car can have up to 8 keyfobs but only the fob number one (1) and two (2) can be used got remote start.Fobs 3-8 will not remote start the car. You can go to the dealership to have All keyfobs reprogrammed so you will have number 1 & 2.

Press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. It reset my transmitter in one press, I heard a click on my car door lock, started right up.

If you have a stored diagnostic code or your check engine light is on the car will not start..your car will not start even if your check engine light is not on..if it has a stores fault code..the car will not start..you must have all the dtc trouble code cleared..this is very easy too do..take both terminals off the cars battery.touch the positive and neutral battery cables together( this is not dangerous and will not harm the vehicle) clamp the 2 cables together for at least 60 minutes.use a Set of vise grips to clamp them together.making sure each cables metal area is in contact with the otherz metal area..this action drains all the little storage batteries in your ecm.and will reset all the computers diagnostic functions and clear all the codez..after an hour..replace your 2 battery cables too their designated pos and negative side of the battery..tighten and now your remote will work.
