You jump inside Your Chevrolet Equinox, ready to go, when You realize that the vehicle won't start. What could be causing this There is an array of issues that could cause Your engine not to turn over, but the primary three include a bad alternator, failure of the starter, or a dead battery. If the problem is the battery, recharge it. If a boost doesn't work, check for loose connections or bad wiring, and replace as necessary. If You need to replace the battery, it will cost between $50 and $350 for parts alone. If the starter or alternator have failed, they will need to be replaced. A new alternator will cost between $89 and $358, and a new starter will cost You between $50 and $120.
I just had this same issue yesterday with my 2020 Equinox. It just kept turning over but not starting. It even locked up the shifter. After a few times of trying to turn it over it just started. Battery is fine, alternator and starter are fine. So I wonder what the problem is.
Battery tested fine, starter tested good. Even when I try to jump it it does same thing. I have power to everything in vehicle. No crank though. Also checked relays and fuses

The common problems to check for if your vehicle won't start are a dead battery, faulty alternator, or a failed starter.
