There are several issues that could occur to cause the touch screen in the Ford Explorer did not work. Software glitches seem to be the number one cause and a simple reset can sometime get it working again. There are several ways to reset the MyFord Touch system. You can either pull the fuse, located in the passenger compartment fuse box, near the left side of the drivers foot area. You have to be careful not to drop the fuse behind the plastic trim when replacing or checking it. You could also disconnect fuse box power supply connector. Leave the fuse or connector out for about a minute and then re-plug it in. Try powering the radio on to see if this fixed Your issue.

If your Ford Explorer touch screen is not working it usually has frozen and needs to be restarted.

I fought this issue with Ford for years on my 2020 Explorer. They tried reseating the cables and updating software, then they thought the recall work to replace the rear camera intermittent blue screens would do it. The problem with was finally solved in my case by the dealership replacing the APIM module. The problem I had was that it was intermittent and the dealership could never duplicate the issue. Finally one day I was taking it to the dealership to have some routine service done and the screen started acting up. I never shut it off and had the service manager look at it while it was happening. They even took a recording of it. My advice is to take the vehicle to the service department while it's happening if possible and have them confirm the issue. Most likely they will replace the APIM
