If Your Honda CR-V Apple car play is not working, You may need to remove the blue tooth connection between the car and the phone. You will need to reset it. If this does not work go into options and delete user data, then reconnect. CarPlay is an Apple standard that enables a car radio or head unit to be a display and a controller for an iOS device. It is available on all iPhone models beginning with iPhone 5 running iOS7.1 or later.Apple CarPlay is free and comes preinstalled in new vehicles. The usage of CarPlay in and of itself does not use data. I.e if You turn on Your car, and connect Your iPhone. Anything You do in CarPlay that requires Internet access will use data.

Try rebooting the infotainment center. Press and Hold radio on off button volume control about 10 seconds or less. It will ask you if you want to reboot. Touch yes. It will take a short time and then start again. Fixed myApple Carplay immediately

Do I need to have a usb chord from Apple specifically? I was using an off brand usb chord and it was working now it isn’t. I tried rebooting and it says that I need to connect the device to the USB port
Thanks, it did work after pressing the ON/OFF button for a few second until it reboot itself! Then a Honda logo appeared on screen! Then I saw the “Apple CarPlay “ in green! At that time it know it it working again!??? Thanks again ?

HONDA, PLEASE FIX IT! It's a serious Carplay bug of Honda. The carplay would be disconnected randomly, and reconnecting Bluetooth/carplay WON'T work unless you reboot your car system, just like you have to reboot your windows system when it crashes.

For those who still had issue after many reset, change power cord or turn off BT. I found my issue was the EQ app in apple ios. It turns out I need to download it from apple store and set that to flat. Airplay must report many failure with EQ and crashed the cache in the internal system.

I solved this by first removing my CR-V from my iPhone’s list of Apple CarPlay vehicles. This can be done by going to Settings > General > Apple CarPlay > Choose the vehicle > Choose “Forget Car”. Next, in the CR-V, I went to Settings > System Settings > Restore Factory Settings. NOTE: This will reset your infotainment screen, so your settings and data will be reset/erased. Finally, I disabled Bluetooth on my iPhone. After doing all this, I plugged my iPhone into my CR-V and Apple CarPlay worked.

Worked for a second and then just lost connection to the phone again. Tried again and same thing. Carplay shows up and everything works and 30 secs later it is unable to connect (even though Bluetooth connection to the phone works).

Rebooting works to a point, but the AV system in the CRV seems to have an ongoing issue with CarPlay. Why has Honda not released an update for this? Factory resets get old after the 200th time

You need to make sure the cord is plugged into the correct usb. Try a different cable. Most times I have had issues with car play you can do a factory data rest and it will start working correctly.
