There are several reasons that could cause the auxiliary input to not work in a 2008 Ford Focus. One would be a disconnected wire going to the port, this would require unscrewing the glove boxAnd removing it to gain access to the wiring. The wiring coming from the radio Could be damaged or there is a software issue. Its also possible that the Audio jack isnt fully inserted into the port, just give a push to make sure it is seated with the shoulder of the jack touching the port. Make sure that the radio is in the AUX setting and that the volume is turned up on both the radio and portable Audio device.

Some obvious yet common fixes for issues with the aux input include: turning the volume up and making sure the output is completely seated into the input jack. Beyond these, you'll likely need a professional with experience in electrical issues to diagnose and fix the problem.
