The Ford F-150 might have the check engine light on for several reasons. It indicates there is a fault that needs to be addressed. Usually, it comes on and stays on. When it is not attended to for a while, it attempts to capture Your attention by blinking on and off. To determine the issue, it is always good to visit a mechanic to get the OBD-II reader connected to it. This machine can generally determine some general faults by displaying a fault code. This code will point You in the direction of the problem, like a faulty transmission or simply low oil levels. It is important to not ignore the check engine light warning Your car displays. Especially if it is blinking. If You believe the issue is solved and it is still blinking, You can have a mechanic put it off.

What if the engine light flashes and the OBD-11 don’t see any codes?

With the ford f150 a blinking check engine light means that there has been a misfire, you should not continue to drive your truck if the light is still flashing damage may occur.
My engine light stays blinking while I'm driving. What is causing it? I have 195,000 mi on it and I don't think the spark plugs have ever been changed out.
