Common reasons for clicking under the dash of the Ford F-150 include lost calibration from the heater control module, the blend door stepper motor, or an issue with a relay. To re-calibrate the heater module You will first need to turn on the ignition, press the AUTO button, then turn the ignition back off. Then remove the HVAC fuse for at least 60 seconds. When turning the ignition on again, the system will relearn all of the blend door positions. You should not touch anything during this process which typically takes a few minutes. Once the engine is started again the calibration is complete. A faulty stepper motor can replaced using a repair kit costing around $20-$30. A bad relay can be checked using an ohmmeter and easily replaced if it has blown. The fuse boxes are located on the right of the passenger footwell and in the engine compartment.

Grandparents 2014 F-150 had a ticking sound near dash when we opened the door (before putting key in ignition). A stranger told my grandmother she just needed windshield wiper fluid. Went and put fluid in it and what do we know....it worked.

The clicking noise sound under the dash of a ford f-150 is indicating the plastic gear inside of the blend door actuator is broken. Replacing the blend door should fix the problem.

I had a clicking noise coming from under my dash. What worked for me was turning the key to the on position (engine not running) and pressing max ac, then turning the truck off completely. I then pulled fuses 30 and 51, and left them out for a few minutes. Reinstalled the fuses, turned key back to on position, and after a few minutes in the on position I turned my engine on and no more clicking noise.

Fuse 30 doesn’t control that and there is no fuse 51 on a 14 f150 4x4. No auto button either

Ithought for sure I would have to tear out the dash, remove airbag and radio to get to the blender, but you saved the day! That worked brilliantly! Took about 2 minutes! Thank you!!

That didn’t work. 2014 doesn’t have a auto switch.

David Thomas the fuses are located underneath the front hood at the front fuse box. Open it you will find fuse 30 and fuse 51.
