The Ford F-150's radio display may stop working if the wiring is faulty or You need a factory re-boot of the truck's Audio. To perform a re-set of Ford SYNC and its stereo screen, follow the outlined steps below. Disconnect the positive battery cable and wait 30 minutes. Re-connect the cable after 30 minutes and turn on the vehicle. The Audio should re-set and the screen may now work. Follow any prompts that appear. If these steps don't get results, locate the cabin fuse box on the right-hand side of the passenger's footwell, and pull the radio display fuse, which is number #26. Replace this fuse to restore screen function. Lastly, You may be dealing with a faulty stereo unit and this part is known as the FDIM, or "front display interface module." For more complicated repairs visit a local dealership.

Don't pull battery cables or fuses. It's probably the known software issue for SYNC. If you have audio but the display is not on or fuctioning, hold the power button located on the Volume knob and seek forward button f=simultaneously for >10 seconds until the Ford logo appears.

I’ve reset with the power/ffwd button 10 times, still comes up blank on CarPlay. It’s under warranty but I don’t want to take it all the way to the dealership and leave for a day if there’s another solution. Anyone? I guess I can try the battery or fuse thing…

My issue was that the display kept going out but the radio and bluetooth functionality was fine. Resetting did not work in my case either. I took my truck to a local radio installer and was informed that Ford has some major issues with their radio systems. Should be a recall but it's not a safety issue so that's not going to happen. I ended up spending 400 bucks to have my radio display replaced as well as the internal display module. Good luck on this one.

I had no display or radio and did the above. Held power button and forward seek for 10 seconds and it reset. Thanks. No need to check fuse or disconnect battery.

Had only date, time and temp on a black screen. Did the 2 button reset and everything came back perfect.
