It is a very popular luxury vehicle.

Has had minor computer problems. Repairs seem to be more costly. It's a luxury vehicle with a nice smooth ride. Drives very nice in the winter weather. It is also a pretty vehicle. It has a nice pearl white color. It seats plenty of people and it is a strong performance riding vehicle. It has nice addons like back seat heat warmers. It is also a large vehicle with plenty of room.

This SUV has great horsepower! Heated seats is a plus during winter. I also love the remote control start feature.

I purchased the Cadillac Escalade 2005 used. I do regret jumping right into it instead of taking my time searching for the right SUV for my family. I mean it is a good vehicle but space wise it's too small. Cargo space is horrible. Can barely put a load of groceries in back. I have 3 small children so I carry a small stroller that takes up the entire cargo space.

Having to trade our lovely escalade for one that was completely torn apart.

We bought a 2004 Cadillac escalade ext. truck new years ago. We loved it! During a trip last year we had some problems with it and a friend traded us for a 2005 Cadillac escalade eve. We had taken great care of our truck and the vehicle we traded for was a mess. It had been a nice truck but it had been terribly abused and ripped apart. So sad.

Safety Recalls (2)

Seat Belts > Rear Apr 22, 2005
Report Receipt Date:
Apr 22, 2005
NHTSA Campaign:
05V163000
Summary:
ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE 2ND ROW CENTER OCCUPANT SEAT BELT ROUTING MAY MAKE IF DIFFICULT TO POSITION THE LAP PORTION OF THE SAFETY BELT LOW AROUND THE HIPS OF OCCUPANTS, ESPECIALLY SMALLER OCCUPANTS, SEATED IN THIS POSITION. APPROPRIATE USE OF A CHILD SEAT OR BOOSTER SEAT, AS RECOMMENDED FOR SMALL CHILDREN, DOES IMPROVE THE FIT CONDITION FOR THIS USER GROUP. IN ADDITION TO INSTRUCTIONS ON PROPER INFANT AND YOUNG CHILD RESTRAINT (WITH CHILD SEATS OR BOOSTERS), SPECIAL VERBIAGE FOR RESTRAINING OLDER CHILD IS INCLUDED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. ALSO, THE SUGGESTED SEAT BELT FIT/ROUTING FOR ADULTS, IRRESPECTIVE OF SEATING POSITION, IS DESCRIBED ION THE OWNER'S MANUAL TEST.
Consequence:
A LAP PORTION OF THE SEAT BELT ROUTING THAT IS NOT LOW AND SNUG ON THE HIPS CAN ALLOW UNFAVORABLE OCCUPANT KINEMATICS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, ESPECIALLY A FRONTAL COLLISION. MOREOVER, THE HIGHER ROUTING ALLOWS THE LAP BELT TO RIDE UP ON AN OCCUPANT'S ABDOMEN INSTEAD OF FITTING LOW AROUND THEIR HIPBONES, AND THEREFORE, CAN EXPOSE THEM TO MORE RISK OF ABDOMINAL AND INTERNAL ORGAN INJURY.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL CUT OPEN THE GUIDE LOOP, REMOVE A PORTION OF THE LOOP, AND THEN THE REMAINING TWO SIDES SHOULD BE FOLDED OVER AND SECURED WITH A RETAINER. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT CADILLAC AT 1-866-982-2339, CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438, GMC AT 1-866-996-9463, OR HUMMER AT
Power Train > Manual Transmission > Shift Pattern Indicator Feb 14, 2005
Report Receipt Date:
Feb 14, 2005
NHTSA Campaign:
05V055000
Summary:
CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 102, "TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER SEQUENCE, STARTER INTERLOCK AND TRANSMISSION BRAKING EFFECT." UNDER CERTAIN VEHICLE STARTING CONDITIONS, THE SHIFT LEVER POSITION INDICATOR LOCATED IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER MAY NOT ILLUMINATE. IF THE SHIFT LEVER POSITION INDICATOR DOES NOT ILLUMINATE, THE DRIVER MAY NOT KNOW WHICH GEAR THE VEHICLE IS IN.
Consequence:
THE VEHICLE MAY MOVE IN AN UNINTENDED DIRECTION RESULTING IN POSSIBLE INJURY TO OTHERS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN FEBRUARY 18, 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT CADILLAC AT 1-866-982-2339, CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438, AND GMC AT 1-866-996-9463.
