The 2015 Toyota Tacoma is an extremely reliable truck. Its V6 engine offers excellent performance on and off the road. It holds its value much better than the competition.
dislikeFilled The Bad
Interior materials feel a bit cheap. Fuel economy is better in other trucks. It does not have the latest safety technology.
checkCircleAlternativeBold The Bottom Line
The Tacoma is the best compact truck on the market for 2015. A combination of infotainment technology, performance, and reliability makes it a great choice. It does everything a small truck should do without a lot of flash.

2015 Toyota Tacoma: Quick Overview

  • The 2015 Toyota Tacoma scores above average in reliability ratings.
  • Two engine choices are available. The 4-cylinder offers better fuel economy, and the V6 is more powerful.
  • Tacoma ranks second  in the compact truck market in fuel efficiency with 19 miles per gallon in the city and 24 on the highway. Owners report the 4-door model feels cramped in the rear seats.
  • NHTSA gave it a 4-star crash test rating.

Very reliable vehicle for everyday life.
Usually has good gas mileage. Sunroof will not open. Very good sound system and navigation unit. Very smooth ride on back and main roads. Seat belt alarm system is very loud. Very smooth streaming system. Interior leather is very nice. Headlights are very good and bright.

Great five star vehicle i recommend to anyone who asks.
Well its a Toyota so i expected it to hold up. When i first got it I wanted it as a second vehicle because i didn't want to 'wear out' my gorgeous truck. I loved it so much i drove it all the time. I am nearing 100000 miles and NEVER had it anywhere near a shop. Great car. Five stars

Awesome truck & key features.
No problems whatsoever, it drives smooth and it is very reliable, long gas and the performance is just amazing. I really like the extra long bed feature to be able to put your things in there, I would definitely recommend this to buy for your next truck!

2015 Toyota Tacoma, Built to last!
I have owned my Toyota Tacoma long enough to really appreciate the build quality. It is not the most fancy vehicle on the road for the price but the quality of components allows it to keep running with little to no issues ever. My truck has never broken down and has been able to handle all the towing needs I have thrown at it. Overall it is my favorite vehicle I have owned so far.

My experiences with a Toyota Tacoma
I have been a customer of Toyota for a very long time. Their vehicles are very reliable and basically problem free if you are willing to keep up on the maintenance part of owning a vehicle. My Tacoma is very comfortable and offers excellent features.

My reliable comfortable and long lasting Toyota
I love my Toyota Tacoma due to the reliability of Toyotas and long lasting vehicles. My truck takes me places within my comfort and I never feel like something is wrong even if it's just a change in oil. Toyotas are a reliable brand of car, trucks, and SUVs that is made for the whole family to enjoy. I will soon be looking into getting a second Toyota brand vehicle.

My great Toyota Tacoma off road experiences.
Yes I love my Tacoma I love the way it handles when I take it off road and the gas mileage is really great. I love the rooms of the inside of the truck for example the leg room. I also love that I can take phone calls without having to actually have my cell phone in my hand.

Be really sure a small truck will meet all of your needs.
I went from tundra to a Tacoma, I am 6ft tall and over 215 LDS. I find the Tacoma to tight in space. The truck is ok otherwise. The bed is 5.5ft long, which makes hauling lumber an issue. The towing capacity of this vehicle is lower than other similar size trucks and it is transmission does not have a towing option.
accountCircle Chris T
Unfortunately it is the best option for a truck in this class
Poor build quality including accessories and trim. Driver window switch panel broke within 3 years. Needed new transmission right before 60k warranty was up. Cheap plastic bed and 0-60 is so sluggish that it is pointless to even suggest the truck can tow anything.
accountCircle Matthew K
Constant maintenance with a manual transmission.
I've replaced the throw out bearing 3 times and the input transmission bearing once and there is still a squeak. The navigation system is okay. I hate that I have to pull over and stop to add a new destination. So I mostly use google maps. Other than that I like the truck a lot. It's very roomy and comfortable.
accountCircle Angelica T
Awful experience with mechanical issues.
This is my second Tacoma and this one since day one has had sensor issues, rear camera is constantly being disabled and the dealership never wanted to fix it and to top it off it eats thru gas like crazy. And it's not very kid friendly when I do a quick trip with them.
accountCircle Corey B
All back and all blacked out windows black tires and black rims
New black gray interior lifted big tires 60k miles blackout windows cold air intake new headlights and tail lights
accountCircle Betty R
Just a truck for getting around in.
The steering wheel should be close to the driver for better handling. Windows should be cleared for seeing oncoming cars. Should have good gas mileage and good warranty for them. Some people are unable to afford labor done on their cars. They want to be able to work on them their self. I have nothing else to say.
accountCircle Nina L
It is useful for those in the construction field or tend to move heavy objects.
My Toyota Tacoma is durable and very useful when you need to carry big quantity and large object that wouldn't fit in a regular car. I wouldn't say this truck would be for a large size family. As it only has 5 seats, but it does have 5 cup holders. The ventilation is great for a hot day as it quick to blow cold air for the a/c. The seats are comfortable and adjustable. It provides Bluetooth to connect with your smartphone for calls and music. Also including the weather app that is on the screen to show the weather in your area.
accountCircle Kathi D
Overall it is not a tundra but a comfortable ride.
I feel it is not powerful enough. I prefer the Toyota tundra. It is a reasonably comfortable in the front seat with enough leg room and has a fairly comfortable back seat, providing you are not too tall. The bed could be bigger. It is okay on gas. It is a fairly quiet ride. The trailer package could be more robust.

How Does the 2015 Toyota Tacoma Compare to Other Trucks?

The Toyota Tacoma ranks first among compact trucks based on owner reviews. The closest competitor is the Chevy Colorado.  A Colorado is a better value than the Tacoma, and it also offers more up-to-date technology. The Tacoma has a better reliability rating. Chevrolet has made a good truck, but it doesn’t measure up to the Tacoma when it comes to longevity.

Another competitor is the Nissan Frontier. The Nissan has more power, but feels dated. Interior materials and technology are just not as good in the Nissan. It also scores lower than the Tacoma in overall reliability.

Tacoma known to last up to 400,000 miles.
I purchased my 2015 Toyota Tacoma three months ago I love it. This is my first Toyota vehicle and I am very impressed on how well it handles. The interior and exterior are well made with good quality materials. Toyota is known for its reliability and performance and the Tacoma is exactly that. Excellent gas mileage for a sport pick up ready to handle whatever is thrown at it. Highly recommend!

Toyota prerunner is reliable and strong.
The truck runs smooth and feels powerful. The engine is strong and not loud. The miles per gallon is not bad either. It has plenty of space inside and on the truck bed. It is not too small and not too big, it is a good size to carry medium sized items but sometimes it is surprising what you can fit in it.

Review on 2015 Toyota Tacoma.
All around the vehicle is great. Some problems come up during the rain and the cold, but it still holds up. The only true problem is the Bluetooth sometimes does not link. The ac sensor also gave out 3 years in, but that could be due to the heat from Texas.

It is a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. It is black in color and is the trd pro edition. It has a really big lift and big tires on it and I like driving it in the woods and taking it bogging and trying to see what will tear up and what will hold up the best. I just bought it a couple weeks ago so I haven’t had any problems with it yet.

Go for the v6 and 4 wheel drive!
Well, I love this truck. I bought it at 104,000 miles and now I just hit 178,000 in two years. Which means I drive it a lot for work. Zero major repairs have been needed so far, just keeping up with basic maintenance. Most expensive thing in there is new shocks and struts. Repairs are easy with plenty of room under the hood. I recommend the 4 wheel drive though, I opted for the smaller engine and front wheel drive for gas mileage reasons, and absolutely the only thing I regret.

I have not had any major problems with my car at all. I have gotten information that there might be recalls. But I checked online and the information does not include my pick up. So I am happy about this. I plan to drive it for a very long time. It has been a reliable pick up.

I love my Tacoma! I get great gas mileage almost like I would driving a car! It is also small enough to be economical and I do not feel like I am driving something big and bulky down the road and I can still pull a trailer and haul stuff around! I would definitely recommend the Toyota Tacoma to anyone!

No problems and highly reliable. A little cramped on entry but comfortable once you are inside. Plenty of high tech features that I rarely use. The plug in for a dashboard add on is a little loose but the USB is perfect. The angle of the screen could be more acute to avoid sun glare.

Great off road truck and still small enough to fit in parking spots.
I can not say anything bad about the vehicle. Well leather seats would be nice and the radio they come with is antiquated. It does not have features you would imagine would be on a 2015 car. I was surprised by this. Especially unhappy that it does not have a weather feature. I find a temperature gauge pretty helpful and it does not have one.

For a truck it rides like a Cadillac. It has all the power I need and has plenty of room for my family of 5. I have not had any issues and I am nearing 100k miles. This is my 4th Tacoma I have owned. My previous was a 1997 with 253k miles and never had an issue. In 10 years replaced the starter, battery, and ac belt. Highly recommend Toyota!

Toyota Tacoma access cab space limited.
I drive a model with a crew cab and the extended bed. Space for storage within the cab is limited, and without a bed cover it can make it difficult to transport higher value items. It also makes it a bit tight if you want to carry more than one passenger if all are grown adults.

Toyota tacoma’s are in my opinion one of the best trucks on the market.
I love this truck, it got me from Arizona to Maine with a packed u-haul trailer. It is very reliable on different terrains. It can handle the dry desert sand and rough mountain roads. It can handle the frozen icy roads of Maine in winter. If there was anything I would change about this truck it would be that I wish it came with 4 wheel drive. While the two wheel drive is nice I think all Toyota trucks should come with 4 wheel drive standard. My girlfriend who has never driven a truck before in her life absolutely loves this thing. She drives it all the time with ease and can handle it a lot easier than a full size behemoth you would find with other companies. The touch screen display makes it very easy to navigate the dashboard and allows for Bluetooth pairing which makes listening to music a whole lot easier. The seats are very comfortable. Both front and back, they recline almost all the way to flat. My girlfriend and I slept in the truck multiple times during our travels and had no problem falling asleep laying in the seats. This is a perfect truck for a small family or a couple. You can drive across country or around town and still feel like you are having an adventure. The backseat is plenty spacious as well my dog had no problem getting comfortable back there during the long drives across each state. There really is no truck like a Toyota Tacoma, especially the fact that they hold their value basically forever. You will not have a problem trying to sell it later on down the road. That is if you ever do want to sell it.

Toyota Tacoma size is the best!
I really enjoy how smooth the Tacoma drives. It does not use very much gas either. Great for a first truck! Most females like a smaller truck and I find that the Tacoma is the perfect size. It is easy to back into parking spots as well. I think that the bed of the truck is also the perfect size to haul and transport any items.

Reliability and longevity.
I have the Tacoma manual, the reasons for selecting this vehicle was because of the 4 wheel drive electronic selection, also I prefer to drive with a manual gear change. My reasoning for this selection is based on my location on a steep hill in the my snowbelt. Reading reports by owners I realizes that the engine is especially reliable and has a long life. The only complaint I have is the driver's seat is to soft initially but over time there is much less cushion effect.

Reliability is key with owning a Toyota. If you take care of your vehicle it'll take care of you.
So far no problems, fingers crossed, other than minor things like flat tires and light bulbs going out. I bought the vehicle because of the reliability of Toyota.
