The recommended oil type on the 2001 Honda Accord Sedan is SAE 5W-20. If by any chance You can't find any 5W-20 then You can also use 5W-30 just as long as You change it back to 5W-20 on the next oil change. Remember when purchasing Your oil, that it has the API certification on the label. You can also use synthetic oil if You wish as long as it has the same viscosity stated above. The oil capacity on Your Accord iS4.5 US quarts on itS4Cylinder engine. The 6 cylinder engine can take up to 4.6 quarts of oil. Remember to check the level every week or so to make sure the level is where it needs to be.

All three versions of the 2.3L inline-4 (engine code F23A1-4 VTEC, F23A4 7, and F23A5 Y) engine options in the 2001 Honda Accord use 4.5 quarts of 5W20 synthetic oil. The 2001 Honda Accord with the 3.0L V6 engine option requires 4.6 quarts of 5W20 synthetic oil.
