The type of oil Your vehicle needs depends on what the temperature is like where You live. The oil type on the 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander iS-10W-30 for temperatures over 0F. If the temperature is below 100F, then You would need to use either 5W-20 or 5W-30. Now, if You want to know how much fuel to use or what the capacity in Your vehicle is, then that would be 4.5 US quarts with a filter. Remember to change the oil filter every time You change Your oil. You would not want the old oil in the filter to mix with the new oil added to Your engine. I would recommend checking the oil level once a week and top off if it's needed.
