The 2006 Ford Expedition came equipped with A5.4L Triton V8 engine across all trim levels. This engine will have a motor oil capacity of 7 US quarts when the filter is included. It will need to use 5W-20 synthetic blend motor oil. The oil drain plug will have a head size of 16mm. You will need to use a 16mm socket or A5/8th socket wrench in order to remove it unless You have a torque wrench. Using a torque wrench You'll want to set it 20 lbs-ft.

The 2006 Expedition DOES NOT require synthetic oil. I have NEVER ran synthetic oil in my 06 Expedition and I have 184,000 miles on it and she runs beautifully. Don't tell people that the standard oil is synthetic.
