The 2010 Toyota Prius oil type and capacity is 0w-20 and 4.4 quarts. Having high quality oil is important for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into problems with the oil at some point. Old or bad oil can cause the engine to stop working. Knocking noise may come about from the engine. You could experience terrible gas mileage. A common problem is an awful burning odor. This needs to be viewed closely as soon as possible or the car might explode. Your oil needs to be changed out someday. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles or so is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be problems with the engine.

The 2010 Toyota Prius oil capacity is 4.4 quarts (4.2 liters). The recommended oil type is the Toyota Genuine Motor Oil or equivalent to satisfy the ILSAC multigrade engine oil grade and SAE 0W-20 viscosity.
