The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado useS4.5 quarts of oil with the 4.3L V6 engine, and all the other options use 6.0 quarts. Chevrolet recommends that You use SAE 5W-30 fully synthetic oil when You need to change it. There are two main types of oil that You can get these days, conventional and synthetic. Conventional is made from petroleum, and synthetic is engineered in a laboratory to give You better wear protection and longer life. This means that synthetic only needs to be changed every 7,500 miles compared to 3,500 with conventional. Make an effort to check Your oil at least once a month to ensure that it is free from debris and full.

The favored engine oil for the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the SAE 5W-30 motor oil. Inability to utilize the favored motor oil or equivalent can bring about motor damage. The engine oil capacity with respect to the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4.3L engine is 4.5 US quarts (4.3 liters) for all other engines the oil capacity is 6.0 US quarts (5.7 liters).
