My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 3.6 engine says different, according to the oil fill cap it reads SAE 5W 30 So which is it 5W 20 like you are stating or 5W 30 as read on my engine oil fill cap? I would think it is what my oil fill cap reads to put in it.

7 qrts seems like a lot for a V6 3.6L engine. Should take up roughly 5.6 qrts, not 7. And it's 5w30, not 5w20. Where did u get your info? Its literally in the owners manual/maintenance book.

For the 3.6 2011 to 2013 its 5w30 for 2014 they did head modifications and is slightly different and the recommended oil is 5w20

According to the owners manual for the2011 jeep grand cherokee v6 takes 5w30 and the v8 takes 5w20.if youhave the v8 and do t use 5w20 you will end up with a check engine light and other drive ability issues such as myself

Recently changed my own oil. 5w30. 3.6L engine. Took 7 Quarts. Remember,oil filter canister has to refill also.
