The 2013 Ford Explorer uses SAE 5w-20 or 5w-30 viscosity, fully synthetic motor oil. It has an oil capacity of 5.0 quarts in its engine. You can find these oils at any maSSRetail location. You can also find them at an automotive parts and accessories store, or online from trusted sellers. You can expect to pay between $2.54 and $12.86 per bottle. If You choose to have the change completed by an automotive service technician, or by a mechanic, You can expect to pay an additional $57 to $145 for labor. You may also want to invest in a $1 to $4 funnel, to help prevent spills during the exchange. An oil change should be obtained every 10,000 miles, or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

Correction to the previous answer. The 2013 Ford Explorer does not have a 4.0 or 4.6L engine. The only available engines for a 2013 Ford Explorer are: 3.5L V6, 3.5L Twin Turbo V6, and 3.6L Police Utility V6. The capacity is 6 US quarts in all three engines.
