The recommended oil type for a 2016 Mazda cX5 is an sae 5w-30 full synthetic oil, while the capacity iS4.2 quarts. When performing an oil change on the car You will first want to make sure that the vehicle has been parked and off for a couple of hours. Otherwise, the oil in the car will be very hot and You could burn Yourself. Find the oil pan in the engine compartment and locate the drain plug on the underside. Position a bucket under the plug and then remove it. This will allow the oil to drain into the pan. Let it do this until it stops dripping, which may take an hour or so. After it has finished dripping You can put the drain plug back on, then locate the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Using a funnel fill the oil pan to full, but make sure to not overfill. A little under is fine, but going over can lead to leaks and oil burn off. Once it is full close the port up, wipe up any spilt oil and You will be finished.

My 2016 Mazda CX-5 say '0W-20 right on the filler cap...not as 5W-30 as Pat T. Suggests.

I accidentally bought saw-5w-30 and put it in and drove it only until after noticing that it was not 0W-20 will my engine be ok? Or do I have to change it ASAP cause I’m worried?

The manual of the CX-5 indicates on pg. 6-27 that USA and Canada vehicles use 0W-20. All other countries use 5W-30.

The recommended oil type for a 2016 Mazda CX-5 is an SAE 5W-30 full synthetic oil. The oil capacity varies by engine type. The 2.0L engine can hold 4.2 quarts, while the 2.5L holds 4.5 quarts, both with a new filter.

You can use either 5W-30 or 0W-20, capacity differs from 2.0L or 2.5L engines. If you live in a hotter climate, I'd use 5W-30. I live in a hot climate year round, so I've been using 5W-30 for wear and tear since I bought the CX-5 with no problems and change in mpg. If you happen to live in an area with "regular" climate or seasons, 0W-20 is better suited. The manual lists both, so depending on your region, I'd decide from that.

Oil filler cap clearly states 0W20 it's a no brainer
